Hello, and welcome!
I am delighted to have you join me on my blog and personal homeschooling journey. It is where, hopefully, you will find many inspirational and helpful resources.
My name is Therese, and I am a Catholic, homeschooling, stay-at-home, coffee-drinking mom who loves to read, write, garden, cross-stitch, coupon, and spending time with my family. God has blessed me with a sweet, hardworking husband and five awesome children: a daughter and four sons. I cannot tell you how many times we have moved– but for now, we call beautiful Spokane, Washington our home. 🙂
Little Blue Butterflies is actually a take off from my husband’s web design business: Green Dragonfly Web Development. It began as a means to help market together, yet my “expertise” is in education— much more so than “html”. The teaching vocation basically “found” me about twenty-five years ago. There was a need for a teacher in a “home-school” setting in our local parish, with simple experience in basic skills. I had only had a few years of college, but for the next ten years, I taught anywhere from middle-school through high-school. Fifteen years later, when I married my soul-mate, the decision to home-school our own children was a no-brainer.
The struggles of finding curricula and textbooks made starting out a challenge, especially when the boys were babies. Nevertheless, the kids have succeeded in spite of my starts–and stops. Since then, our twins have since graduated, and our three boys are into the “fun” years of elementary school. I thought: how exciting and wholesome it would be to start a blog. A blog that would help provide a resource and inspiration to other homeschooling moms…and maybe be able to share some of my own journey and experiences as well. If you are in this category, or just want to explore the adventure with us, then join us! Happy to have you along!
God bless… 🙂
